The main objective is the study of improved high concentration photovoltaic systems, through R & D, innovation and technology transfer, with the ultimate goal to achieve more reliable operational plants with a lower cost, and to give more confidence to the market.

VE2

The main objective of the VE2 project is the development of a software platform to manage the interaction of electric vehicles parked and connected to the electric network of a building and the electric consumption of the whole building. The project pretends to obtain a cost reduction on the energy demanded by the building to the Grid.

SDE 2014

Solar Decathlon has been open only to universities and institutions of higher education worldwide. This international dimension makes it possible to compare, assess and analyze how each participating team imagines, designs, adapts and builds an energy-independent housing unit for the solar energy available in their countries. In this edition, Robolabo is in charge of designing and implementing the hardware and firmware of the competition monitoring system.

SDE 2012

Solar Decathlon Europe 12 is an international competition created through an agreement signed between the Ministry of Housing of the Government of Spain and the United States Government, co-organized by Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in which universities from all over the world meet to design, build and operate an energetically self-sufficient house, grid-connected, using solar energy as the only energy source and equipped with all of the technologies that permit maximum energy efficiency.

Robolabo took over the task of designing, implementing and installing the monitoring system in charge of logging these variables, process them and show them in the monitoring web of the competition.

N4C

The target of the N4C project is the deployment and testing of ubiquitous and pervasive networking for communications challenged areas in a manner consistent with an overall vision for a future Internet that can encompass not just users and applications in well connected regions, but that can also reach out to rural areas. Whithin this target, the main objective of Robolabo is to develop a heterogeneous wireless identification network powered by kinetic energy, which allows the localization of animals in open environments.

GeDELOS-FV

The GEDELOS-PV system is an example of the added value of PV hybrid that combines photovoltaic electricity generation technology with Active Demand-Side Management strategies. Its main objective is to supply the electrical needs of the user by optimizing the use of local generation, which combine two main strategies: i) change the consumption pattern to integrate as far as possible with the pattern of local generation and ii) manage the storage system to store surplus generation and subsequent use in times of low or no generation.

HELIODOMO

The main objective of the project is to estimate the environmental impact of construction and operation of Magicbox, the solar house built by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid for the Solar Decathlon 2005 competition, sponsored by the Department of Energy (DOE) of the United States of America. Specifically, Robolabo was in charge of designing controllers for the passive HVAC system based on shift-phase gels.

SD 2005

Magicbox was the first bioclimatic and self-sufficient solar house from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid participating in the Solar Decathlon 2005, in Washinton DC, United States. Robolabo was in charge of designing the electric and control system of the house. Within the project different RS-485 control boards were designed, where ambient variables were obtained, to mantain the house in the predefined comfort conditions.
